Supplemental Instruction

SI sessions:

• Provide opportunities for students to improve understanding of material in historically difficult classes

• Are a great way to meet classmates through collaborative learning

• Are guided by an SI leader that has been trained in supplemental instruction and attends class

• Meet twice a week outside of class and are completely voluntary

All students enrolled in an SI-supported course are invited to attend SI sessions. Session dates,
times, and locations are announced in class. Please bring all relevant material to SI sessions.

Testimonials

This semester, students who attended SI sessions for Math 241, on average, scored 6 points higher on the first test than students who did not attend an SI session.

Students who attended 6 or more SI sessions in Spring 2021, on average, scored a letter grade higher than the class average with quite a few scoring 20 points higher.
