Jerry Salomone Endowed Scholarship in Sociology 
The scholarship was established  by family, friends and faculty in the Sociology and Criminal Justice department in his memory.  Dr. Jerome “Jerry” Salomone ‘59 returned to Southeastern in 1981, to become the dean of the College of Humanities and a professor of sociology. From 1987 to 1988, he was the acting dean of the College of Science and Technology and from 1988 to 1989, he served as acting dean of the newly organized College of Arts and Sciences. Salomone retired from Southeastern in 1989, but continued to teach sociology classes at the university  until 2003.

Sanderson Farms First Generation Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established with contributions from Sanderson Farms corporate headquarters in Laurel, Mississippi.  Sanderson Farms is the third largest poultry producer in the United States and is a Fortune 500 company.  The scholarship benefits a first generation student who is a resident of Louisiana.

Sam & Chris Santora Endowed Scholarship in Athletics (Football) 
The scholarship was established in their memory by the parents of Sam and Chris, Charles Santora ‘72  and Debra Hayden Santora. Charlie played linebacker for Southeastern from 1968-1971 and was team captain his senior year. The scholarship benefits a football player.

SBA (Seventies Black Alumni) Endowment 
The scholarship was established by black members of the classes of the seventies and it benefits a black/African American student.

Danny Schilling Endowed Scholarship in Athletics (Football) 
The scholarship was established by Danny Schilling ‘68, a Lion football player from 1965-1967. Danny served on the LAA Board of Directors and his scholarship supports a Southeastern football player. 

Hans Schneider Excellence in Music Endowed Scholarship 
Hans Schneider was a businessman, charter member of the Louisiana Forestry Association and also helped form the Hammond Urban Forestry Committee, but  his passion was music.  He and his wife, Marietta, continued to play the piano well into their nineties. The scholarship was established by his children, Carl, Jeff and Fay Schneider Bright after their father’s passing, to honor his love of music and to support a Southeastern Music student.

Marietta Reimers Schneider Endowed Piano Scholarship 
Marietta Reimers Schneider and Hans Schneider were community leaders and talented  musicians.  They were generous patrons of the arts and other humanitarian initiatives.  They were faithful participants and contributors to Fanfare, The Columbia Players, and many other organizations dedicated to the arts. Their  children, Carl, Jeff  and Fay Schneider Bright established the scholarship in her memory for a piano performance student.

Scharmal Schrock Endowed Scholarship in Vocal Performance 
The scholarship was established in recognition of Scharmal by her  family, friends and colleagues to recognize her  commitment to the Southeastern vocal performance program. She was on the vocal music faculty for 25 years and retired from the university in 2006. She trained some of the most gifted vocalists to emerge from Southeastern, and her influence continues to be felt through the achievement of her former students and the memories of her many admirers and friends. The scholarship provides tuition assistance to a student majoring in Vocal Performance.

John and Ellie Schroder Endowed Scholarship in Athletics 
The scholarship was established by Southeastern alumni, John Schroder ‘84 and his wife Ellie Daigle Schroder ‘83.  John and Ellie met at Southeastern when she was studying Elementary Education and he was studying Criminal Justice.  John is currently serving as Louisiana State Treasurer, previously serving in the State Legislature as a Representative for District 77.  Ellie has taught in a number of area elementary schools and is also a residential building contractor.  Their scholarship benefits a student athlete preferably majoring in Education.  

John Searles Scholarship 
The scholarship was established with a gift from John’s wife, Melanie, with additional contributions from family and friends.  John Searles ‘76 was an educator for 32 years, with 14 of those years spent at Southeastern instructing in the Industrial Technology department. The scholarship benefits a student majoring in Industrial Technology.

The Dr. Patrick & Barbara Settoon Endowed Scholarship in Chemistry 
In September of 2006, Pat  ‘57 and Barbara Settoon ‘74 of Hammond celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. To memorialize this occasion, and recognize Dr. Settoon’s years  at the University,  the Settoon children, Rick, Randy and Noelle established the scholarship. Dr. Settoon worked at Southeastern for over 30 years, serving as a faculty member, department head, dean, and provost.

SGA Outstanding Freshman Man/Woman Leadership Award 
The scholarship award was established in 1996 by the Student Government Association to recognize an outstanding leader among freshman students.

Dick & Glory Sharp Endowed Scholarship 
Dick Sharp ‘55 played basketball at Southeastern and is a member of Southeastern’s Athletic Hall of Fame.  He served for a short time as Interim Southeastern Athletic Director spearheading the return of football to the University.  A former Alumnus of the Year and Vice President of South Central Bell, Dick  and his wife, Glory Needham Sharp ‘55, who also established the Sharp Academic Center for Student Athletes established the scholarship for a student athlete.

Paul F. Sharp Athletic Scholarship in Football 
The scholarship was established by Beverly Sharp Burgess and Judge John Burgess in memory of her brother, Paul F. Sharp ‘64. Paul was recruited by Southeastern to play football, playing for two years before enlisting in the Marine Corps where he played two years of service football. He returned to Southeastern and played two more years of football and earned his degree. The scholarship provides tuition assistance to a football player.

Thomas Sharp-Delta Tau Delta Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established by the brothers of Delta Tau Delta in memory of Tom Sharp ‘71 ‘73 and is funded through proceeds from an annual golf tournament.  

Thomas Sharp Memorial Endowed Scholarship in Music
The scholarship was established by Tom Sharp’s sister, Beverly Sharp Burgess and other members of Tom’s family along with many of Tom’s friends.  Thomas Sharp ‘71, ‘73 was a member of the Music  faculty at Southeastern and is remembered fondly by both his former students and colleagues. The scholarship was established in his memory to provide tuition assistance to a student majoring in music.

Wiley Sharp Endowment for Columbia Theatre 
The fund was established in his memory by his daughter, Kit Sharp McClean and her husband, Bill, along with their family and friends on the occasion of Kit and bill’s marriage and recognizes Kit’s father, Wiley’s, passion for and interest in perpetuating the arts in Hammond and the region. Without his vision of saving Columbia Theatre for the presentation of arts in the community, it would likely not be a reality today.

Bob and Pat Shaw Endowed Scholarship 
Robert "Bob" Shaw ‘63 and his wife Patricia "Pat" Shaw established this scholarship for an undergraduate of junior or senior standing (60+ hours) Southeastern student who is in good standing with the University.

Gladys and Ralph Shaw, Sr. Endowed Scholarship 
The Gladys and Ralph Shaw scholarship was established by Robert Shaw ‘63 and his wife Patricia Shaw and Ralph Shaw ‘61 and his wife Nancy Bickham Shaw ‘66 in honor of the brother’s parents. Their father, a principal in the Hammond School system who also served in the Louisiana Department of Education as Director of Adult Education, was 25 years old when he started college so the brothers decided that the scholarship would benefit an older,  non-traditional student from Louisiana. 

Ina B. Shaw Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established by Dr. Ralph Shaw ‘61 and his wife Nancy Bickham Shaw ‘66 for Ralph’s Aunt Ina. The scholarship is for a non-traditional junior or senior who is a native of Tangipahoa parish. 

Ralph and Nancy Shaw Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established by Dr. Ralph Shaw ‘61and his wife Nancy Bickham Shaw ‘66.   Both are retired faculty members of the University, he in Chemistry and she is Family and Consumer Science. The scholarship benefits a non-traditional student from Louisiana.

Robert Shaw Family Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established by Robert Shaw ‘63 and his wife Patricia Shaw in honor of their sons, Kyle and Michael.  The scholarship benefits a junior or senior student who is a resident of Louisiana.

William F. Sherman Memorial Scholarship
Dr. William Sherman ’71 was honored with a memorial scholarship by his brother Dr. Ken Sherman ‘73 along with other family and friends. Bill Sherman was in his residency in orthopedics at the time of his passing. The scholarship provides tuition assistance to a Pre-Med student with senior standing.

Sigma Tau Gamma Alumni Association River Bell Classic Scholarship 
This scholarship was established by Cameron Barr ‘71 and his wife Marcia Comeaux Barr ‘72 and facilitated by Cameron’s Sig Tau brother Richard “Dickie” Whitson ‘71.   Cameron was a former Lion Athletic Association President and Dickie was a former Alumni Association President and both were proud members of Sigma Tau Gamma. The scholarship  was established to award the student who attends the most athletic events at Southeastern.  

The Simoneaux-Holmes Endowed Scholarship in Elementary Education
The scholarship was established by Paul Simoneaux and  Tommy Holmes. Paul retired from teaching in the Department of Teaching and Learning and the scholarship will provide financial assistance to a junior or senior at Southeastern Louisiana University pursuing a degree in Education.

Leah Beth & Joseph H. Simpson Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established by Becky Fortenberry in the name of  Leah Beth Simpson ‘74 and her husband, Joe Simpson. The funds for the scholarship came from  the sale of property in Amite.  The scholarship is for a student from Tangipahoa Parish.

Sims Family Endowed Scholarship in Business 
The scholarship was established through the wishes of Enid L. Simess to honor her husband, Joseph A. Sims, Sr. and her father-in-law, Linus A. Sims, the first President of Southeastern and one of the founders of the University. It supports students from Tangipahoa parish majoring in Business.

Enid Lions Sims Endowed Memorial Scholarship 
The scholarship was established by her sons, Joe David ‘69 and Joe Arthur as a tribute to the spirit  of the university’s early graduates.  Enid was the daughter-in-law of Southeastern’s first president, Linus A. Sims and was a member of the first class of Southeastern. She was an active member of the Yellow Jackets, Southeastern’s first women’s social club. The scholarship supports a student majoring in a discipline of Visual or Performing Arts.

Skibinski Family endowed Scholarship (Football) 
The scholarship was established by Joe Skibinski and his wife Pam Skibinski ‘74.  Pam is a Southeastern History graduate and is a founder of the FELIONS organization, a group of women who support Lion athletics. Their scholarship provides tuition assistance to a Southeastern football player.

SLU Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship supports outstanding academic students in their senior year with a preference for students who are children of alumni.

SLU Alumni Association Official Ring Endowed Scholarship
The scholarship is supported by the Southeastern Alumni Association through the sale of class rings, and proceeds provide a scholarship to the SGA President.

SLU Students Scholarship Fund in Business (formerly Hill-Kraus)
The fund is an investment fund established by  a stock gift from Heyward Gibbes Hill in 1977 to serve as a teaching tool in the art of investing.  A percentage of the net income generated is used for scholarships.  Gibbs was a foreign service officer.  A year later, William H. Kraus also contributed stock for this project. Scholarships support Southeastern students majoring in business.  

Addie Lela Thompson Smith Endowed Scholarship in Accounting 
The scholarship was established by James E. Smith ‘65 and his wife Nora Pirie Smith ‘65.  Jim is a Professor Emeritus of Accounting at the College of William and Mary. He was the Director of the Accounting program for 10 years and an Associate Dean for 3 years. He has been a member of the William and Mary Accounting Faculty for over 30 years.  The scholarship which honors his mother  is awarded to an MBA student who was an outstanding undergraduate Accounting major from Southeastern. 

Charles Wayne Smith Endowed Scholarship in History 
Fellow student and friend, Mark Wallis ‘72, and other friends and family of 1972 graduate Charles Wayne Smith, established the scholarship in his memory. Charles was a gregarious and outgoing individual who made many friends while a student at Southeastern.  It supports a student majoring in History.

Jordan Brooks Smith Endowed Scholarship 
Retired Department of Teaching and Learning faculty member Jeanne Brooks established this scholarship in memory of her son Jordan who received an undergraduate degree and graduate degree in Political Science and Applied Sociology from Southeastern. Jordan was a park ranger and was a true teacher at heart, creating and presenting programs to hundreds of children and adults, both in and out of the park.  His named scholarship is for Southeastern students preparing to become teachers.

Ray Smith Memorial Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established in his memory by his wife, George Ann Smith ‘66 and her sons, through the Ray Smith Memorial Fund.   The scholarship benefits a student who has attended the Greensburg campus of  Northshore Technical Community College who is presently attending Southeastern.

Stacey Smith Endowed Scholarship in Nursing
Smitty’s established this scholarship in honor of Smitty’s Treasurer and Southeastern class of 1991 Stacey Smith to provide tuition assistance to a student accepted into nursing clinicals.

Steven O. Smith Memorial Athletic Endowed Scholarship in Football 
The scholarship was established in his memory by his parents, Margaret and Steven Smith.  Steven O. Smith ‘06, ‘09 played for the Lions from 2003-2006, and his scholarship supports a Southeastern football player.

Smitty’s Supply Inc. Endowed Scholarship in Accounting 
Smitty’s Supply Inc. is a very active partner in using Southeastern accounting students as interns and employing graduates so they established this scholarship to demonstrate their commitment and partnership with Southeastern.

Southeastern Alumni Association Program Endowment for Columbia Theatre 
The fund was established by the Southeastern Alumni Association to support performance programming at the Columbia Theatre.

Southeastern Alumni Service Recognition Endowed Scholarship 
The endowment was established by the Alumni Association Board of Directors in 2010. It benefits a student who has successfully completed 90 semester hours and who has been an active participant in current and past University activities.

Southeastern Athletic Memorial Scholarship 
The scholarship was established in 1996 with memorial gifts made primarily in memory of Bob Hanisee, Evelyn Imbraguglia and Lloyd Stovall, b ut through the years many other contributions have been made in memory of former Southeastern Athletes in order to build the endowment.  The scholarship benefits a student who has lettered for at least two years in Varsity sports, but has lost eligibility and is within thirty hours of graduating.

Southeastern Ceramics Endowed Scholarship
The scholarship was established with contributions provided by the Southeastern Ceramics Club from their pottery sales and from friends, colleagues and supporters of the Southeastern Visual Arts Department. The scholarship supports a student in Visual Arts with a concentration in Ceramics. 

Southeastern General Endowed Scholarship Fund 
This scholarship was established through donations to the Southeastern Foundation.  All Southeastern students may apply for this scholarship.

Southeastern Louisiana University Seventies Black Alumni Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established by a group of black alumni who graduated in the 70’s and it benefits a current black student.

Joseph, Gloria, and Stephen Soutullo Endowed Scholarship 
The memorial scholarship recognizes the parents of Stephen Soutullo as well as Stephen Soutullo ‘71. The scholarship was established by Steve in memory of his parents and later his name was added by his siblings.  Described as a great ambassador for the University, Steve served as Assistant Vice President and Dean of Enrollment Management at Southeastern.The recipient will have served as an Orientation Leader and will have been selected as Orientation Leader of the Year.

Susan McQuay Spiller Memorial Endowed Scholarship in Social Work 
Susan Spiller ‘83  was a life-long social worker and deeply committed civil rights activist. She was a certified licensed clinical social worker who participated in the education as a supervisor of MSW candidates as well as licensing of clinical social worker candidates. The scholarship was established by her husband, Dr. Edmond Spiller along with family and friends to provide support for students who may have a similar affinity for the greater goals of social justice and human dignity.  Social Work.

Francis C. St. Blanc Scholarship in Industrial Technology 
The scholarship was established by his wife, Iris,l in memory of Mr. St Blanc, who was a former department head of Industrial Technology and taught and advised students at Southeastern. The scholarship supports a Southeastern Industrial Technology student.

Stan and Suzanne St. Pierre Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established by Stan St. Pierre ‘68 and his wife, Suzanne Kolpf St. Pierre ‘69.  Stan, a native of Hammond, met Suzanne, a Southeastern cheerleader, while attending Southeastern.

Stan & Suzanne St. Pierre First Generation Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established with funds provided by Stan St. Pierre ‘68 and his wife, Suzanne Kolpf St. Pierre ‘69 . It supports a first generation student. A portion of the funds for this scholarship were provided by a match from the Louisiana State Board of Regents.

State Farm Endowment 
The scholarship was established with contributions from state farm agents in the region and it supports Southeastern student athletes.

Stevens Family Endowed Scholarship in Athletics 
The scholarship was established by Dr. Nick Stevens ‘71 and his wife, Margaret “Met” Tyler Stevens ‘71. The scholarship benefits a Southeastern tennis player.

Ronald and Mildred Boyl Stetzel Piano Scholarship 
The scholarship was established with a bequest from Ronald Stetzel naming the scholarship in his and his first wife’s name.  Ron was a retired faculty member having worked for f33 years in the music department of the University. He and his wife Mildred traveled extensively performing as duo-pianists. The scholarship is for a student majoring in piano.

Elder J.M. (Jim) and Melissa Thomas Stuart Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established by Melissa Thomas Stuart in 1990.  Elder Jim Stuart was pastor of Pine Missionary Baptist Church for 51 years and both he and his wife were interested in young people and helping them to create a better life. The scholarship is for a student of the Baptist faith who is preferably from Washington parish and preferably a member of Pine Missionary Baptist Church..

Student Foundation Leadership Endowment 
The scholarship was established by the Southeastern Foundation to provide financial assistance to student leaders at Southeastern.

Student Government Association Freshman Leadership Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established in 1998 by SGA to recognize a freshman student who has made outstanding contributions to the University and/or community.

Tom Sullenberger Endowed Scholarship in Criminal Justice 
The scholarship was established on the occasion of Tom’s retirement from Southeastern by colleagues and friends.  Tom was an associate professor of corrections and criminal psychology and the driving force behind the development of the Criminal Justice department at Southeastern.  The scholarship benefits a student majoring in Criminal Justice.

Linda Holt Sullivan Scholarship in Occupational Safety and Health 
The scholarship to support a student in the OSHE program was established by her daughter Cheree Devall Brown, with additional contributions from professional organizations, businesses,  colleagues, family members and friends. Mrs. Holt was a certified safety professional who taught at Southeastern and was chair of the curriculum development committee for the Safety and Hygiene program.  Linda worked for ExxonMobil, medical research, OSHA compliance, at a time when there were few women in the field.

Basil Owen Sweatt College of Business Alumni Chapter Endowed Scholarship 
Dr. Basil Sweatt was the first Dean of the College of Business. His career at Southeastern spanned over 30 years, and he served on various business education associations on the state, regional, and national level. The College of Business Alumni Chapter established this scholarship in honor of Dr. Sweatt’s tenure as its first Dean. The  scholarship supports a student majoring in any discipline offered in the College of Business.

Doris Bankston Sweatt College of Education Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established with a contribution from her daughter,  Arnelle Sweat Adcock. Doris Bankston Sweatt ‘48 was an educator who taught business courses at Ponchatoula High School and Hammond High School. The scholarship benefits a Southeastern student from Tangipahoa parish majoring in a discipline in the College of Education, with a preference for one planning to teach business or Business Technology.

Viola Guthrie Brown Swift Memorial Endowed Scholarship 
Viola Guthrie Brown Swift (1933-2011) was a registered nurse who worked at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge for 25 years retiring as the Infection Control Supervisor. The scholarship was established by her son Barry Brown ‘79, a former President of the Southeastern Foundation.  The scholarship provides support to a student who is a nursing major.
