Printing Problem Solver



Printing problems in indexes and databases are often the result of the large file size of articles or documents. The access and speed of printing articles and documents is dependent upon your computer and printer.

Here are some things to try if you are having trouble printing.

If you are having Adobe Acrobat printing problems (PDF files)


1. Print PDF file as an image
    Directions on how to print PDF's as images are at the Acrobat Help website.

2. Print only a few pages at a time

3. Save the article link to your computer, then print the document

--In Internet Explorer, version 7.0 and higher, move your cursor over the link to the article or document, click on the right mouse button, click on "Save target as," assign a folder and file name for your article or document. Open the new file you have saved on your computer, then print the article or document.

--In Firefox, version 9.0 and higher, move your cursor over the link to the article or document, click on the right mouse button, click on "Save link as," assign a folder and file name for your article or document. Open the new file you have saved on your computer, then print the article or document.

If you are having other database printing problems

Try consulting the help screen of the database you are currently using. Some databases use independent viewers and localized help screens can give more specific directions.
