HAMMOND Southeastern Louisiana University’s Public Information Office and the Southeastern Channel have won Silver ADDY awards from the Advertising Federation of Greater Baton Rouge.

The Public Information Office received a Silver ADDY in the "Advertising for the Arts and Sciences/Collateral Brochure/Sales Kit" category for the 2007-08 Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts brochure.

The 38-page brochure promoting the 2007 Fanfare and 2007-2008 Columbia Theatre seasons was designed by Public Information Office graphic designer Michael Trahan with photography by university photographer Randy Bergeron. It was one of two Silver awards in the category. Text was written by Christina Chapple, Public Information assistant director, and Michelle Biggs, Columbia associate director for marketing.

The Southeastern Channel's Silver ADDY was one of four awarded in the "Elements of Advertising/Animation or Special Effects Video/Film" category. The award recognized the channel's promotional spot for “The Florida Parish's Chronicles.” The spot was produced, edited and animated by channel videographer/editor Josh Kapusinski.

Kapusinski’s “Florida Parish Chronicles” promo previously won an Emmy Award in the Suncoast Region and a first-place Silver Telly Award in national competition.

The awards were presented in Baton Rouge Feb. 16 at the Advertising Federation of Greater Baton Rouge’s annual awards ceremony. Judged by a panel of advertising executives from three out-of-state markets, the organization presented 77 gold and 111 silver awards from among more than 600 entries.
