February 2019 Speaker - Agent Nicole Harrison
On February 25th, 2019, as part of the department of Sociology and Criminal Justice’s
LEaD talk series, Agent Nicole Harrison, supervisor of Louisiana Probation and Parole
Covington district, spoke to a rapt audience of undergraduate students about the responsibilities
of her job.
Agent Harrison graduated from Southeastern with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal
Justice and obtained her Master of Arts degree in Administration of Justice and Security
from the University of Phoenix. Agent Harrison explained that a degree in criminal
justice allowed her the ability to think for herself, which she stresses is an important
skill to have in the field of law enforcement.
To be a successful member of the law enforcement field, Agent Harrison stresses one
should not only be able to think for themselves but also be able to communicate well,
think critically, and work well with others. All of these skills, she stresses, are
available as part of Southeastern’s Sociology and Criminal Justice curriculum.
September 2018 Speaker - Agent Megan Batamonte

n September 17, 2018, Agent Megan Baiamonte of State Probation and Parole gave an
engaging talk to a rapt audience as part of the Department of Sociology and Criminal
Justice’s LEaD Talk Series. Agent Baiamonte graduated from Southeastern Louisiana
University in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a minor in sociology.
After graduation, Agent Baiamonte entered state employment with State Probation and
Parole and now serves at the Amite, Louisiana office working with probation investigations.
