Institutional Review Board

At Southeastern Louisiana University, the Institutional Review Board (IRB) exists to assess and evaluate the ethical, safety, and legal ramifications of research projects involving human participants. The review process gives protection to the researcher. Southeastern is guided by the ethical principles set forth in the Belmont Report and follows federal regulations based on the Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects. (45 CFR 46)

All Principal Investigators (PIs) should read and be familiar with the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) before submitting a form. The FAQ addresses common mistakes that may delay approval of a protocol.
