Interfraternity Council Recruitment
Fall 2023 Formal Recruitment
Southeastern IFC conducts a formal recruitment process during the fall semester. IFC Formal Recruitment is the primary way Potential New Members, or PNMs, join our IFC community each year. Coordinated by the Interfraternity Council’s Recruitment Team and Fraternity & Sorority Life, this week-long process is structured around a series of events called recruitment events. Recruitment kicks off with IFC Convocation and leads into smaller events.
Each recruitment event is geared to allow PNMs time to interact with our IFC chapters in a more structured setting. At the conclusion of formal recruitment, Bid Day, PNMs will be able to select one membership offer from one of our IFC chapters. Multiple bids may be offered to a PNM and he must choose which one he would like to accept. IFC Fall Recruitment takes place from August 26 - August 30, 2023!

| August 17, 2023 | Meet the Greeks Fall 2023 | Come meet all of our Fraternity and Sorority Life organizations and learn more about recruitment and intake on the second day of classes. |
| August 23, 2023 | Get Engaged Fest | Come meet all of our different student organizations including our IFC chapters from 11 AM - 2 PM at the Get Engaged Festival. |
| August 25, 2023 | Deadline to Register | All men interested in participating for recruitment must sign up via the link above by 11:59 PM on 8/25/2023 to participate. |
| August 26, 2023 | IFC Recruitment Convocation | Required event for all IFC Potential New Members (PNMs). Event will begin at 5:30 PM and conclude by 8:30 PM. PNMs will meet all six chapters. |
| August 27, 2023 | IFC BBQ | Required event for all IFC PNMs. Event begins at 2 PM and serves as a way for PNMs to mingle with all chapters. PNMs will be asked to rank the chapters they would like to visit for dinners before leaving the BBQ. |
| August 28, 2023 | IFC Dinners Round 1 | PNMs will attend dinners with chapters to get to know the chapter and members better. PNMs will be able to visit up to four chapters for dinners On 8/28 and 8/29. |
| August 29, 2023 | IFC Dinners Round 2 | PNMs will attend dinners with chapters to get to know the chapter and members better. PNMs will be able to visit up to four chapters for dinners On 8/28 and 8/29. |
| August 30, 2023 | IFC Bid Day | PNMs will report to Student Engagement at 5:30 PM to make their final selection for Bid Day. PNMs will be able to choose one (1) bid from a chapter and will join their new chapter for official Bid Day events. |
Eligibility Requirements
In order to accept a bid from a Southeastern IFC organization during informal or formal recruitment, you must:
- Identify as a man
- Be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at Southeastern
- Have a 2.5 cumulative GPA - appeals may be granted due to special circumstances.
- Appeals may be submitted for review to the Interfraternity Council using this link.
- Be in good standing with Southeastern Louisiana University academically and with student conduct
- Have never been initiated as a member of another NIC/IFC fraternity at another university
